KlassikDrain — K300/KS300 12” Internal Width

When selecting the grate there are a couple of factors that have to be considered, including the load classification (resistance to failure), slot pattern (water intake), material (corrosion resistance, etc.), locking (making grate captive to channel), and aesthetics (finished look). Longitudinal Stainless Steel - Load Class A - An ADA compliant grate made from grade 304 stainless steel complete with a non-slip surface. The longitudinal slots are in the same direction as the trench and is available in meters and half meters. Click here for more info.

Mesh Steel - Load Class C - Anti-slip and bicycle safe grate with large openings for high water intake. Available in galvanized or stainless steel. Click here for more info.

Slotted Iron - Load Class C - Features perpendicular slots to the trench body. Manufactured from ductile iron. Click here for more info.

Longitudinal Iron - Load Class C - An ADA compliant grate with longitudinal slots flowing the same direction as the trench. Maufactured from ductile iron. Click here for more info.

Wave Iron - Load Class C - A decorative ductile iron grate designed to give a wave-like flow to the slots along the trench drain. Click here for more info.

Locking Devices

DRAINLOK - BOLTLESS & BARLESS LOCKING SYSTEM 

Factory-fitted locking device removes need for bolts and bars and improves channel hydraulic capacity. The DrainLok mechanism clips into channel edge rail for rapid installation. DrainLok grates are fit with an anti-shunt mechanism that restricts unwanted grate movement when installed, improving durability and longevity of the system.

Push down or stand on grate until it clicks into position.

Position grate onto channel and align anti-shunt detail with recess in rail.

To remove first grate, insert grate removal tool into slots at end of grate, pull up sharply. Remaining grates can be removed by hand.

QUICKLOK® - BOLTLESS LOCKING SYSTEM

Comprised of either a glass nylon stud or steel pin fitted to grate and a removable QuickLok® bar in channel, QuickLok® locks grate to channel by aligning stud over locking bar and applying pressure until they snap together. With no loose bolts or bars, QuickLok® provides a highly secure boltless lock that is still easy to take apart for maintenance and cleaning. This saves time and money during installation.

Locate locking bar in channel wall recesses by rotating clockwise.

Use hammer to tap bar into place so that serrated ends grip in recess.

To install grate, align QuickLok® stud directly over locking bar.

Push down or stand on grate until it clocks into position.

To remove first grate, insert grate removal tool into slots at end of grate, pull up sharply. Remaining grates can be removed by hand.

To remove bar, insert screwdriver into hole at end of bar and lever back serrated end, rotate bar free.

K3 Universal inlet/outlet/end cap

Fits all channels and manufactured from black ABS. Guides aid cutting to correct height. Wings clip cap onto end of channel. 4" bell end connection to SCH 40 pipe. Seal using PVC-ABS cement.

K3 Installation device

Fits molded recesses on body of channel. Provides height and joint alignment - a sliding clamp locks the two channels together. Bolt to rebar on either side of channel to hold channels in place during concrete pour. Not reusable; it is 'lost' within concrete haunch.

K300 Build & Install with Installation Devices

KlassikDrain is a general purpose trench drain system available in 4″ (100 mm) – K100, 8″ (200 mm) – K200 and 12″ (300 mm) – K300 internal width with either galvanized or stainless steel edge rail. All systems have 130 ft (40 m) continuous slope. The video shown here displays the assembly and installation of the K300 series with Installation Devices provided by ACO.

ACO “How To” Series: End Cap Placement

This video describes how to prepare and install an end cap for an ACO Drain product. While the video displays the method for a 4″ channel, the same method can be used for 8″ and 12″ channels.

ACO “How To” Series: Knockouts

This video describes how to properly remove the knockout portion of an ACO drain for pipe placement. The section of drain used in the video is a 4″ wide trench drain, but the same methods apply to the 8″ and 12″ wide versions as well.
